Bergen boasts a vibrant tango community with over 100 dancers and a welcoming atmosphere that embraces dancers of all levels. With two weekly milongas, a practica, and a wide range of classes for both beginners and advanced dancers, there are ample opportunities to dance, whether you’re visiting or a regular participant.

Two weekly milongas at Bergen Barneasyl (SF)

Tuesdays: 19.30 – 22.00
Sundays: 19.30 – 2200

We always have a DJ and a host to ensure a pleasant evening. Entrance fees are NOK 100 (NOK 80 for club members) on Tuesdays and NOK 80 (NOK 50 for club members) on Sundays. At the milonga, we offer complimentary coffee, tea, and light snacks, accompanied by friendly conversations and warm embraces.

Interested in teaching tango?

If you’re a guest teacher from outside the local area and would like to offer private lessons at our dance studio at Bergen Barneasyl, please contact Tango Abrazo in advance to see if this is possible. Please note that the use of our rented premises is reserved for our members outside of milongas, and either the teacher or the student must be a member of our club, Tango Abrazo.

Become a member!

Tango Abrazo is a volunteer organization that hosts classes, invites professional teachers, and organizes milongas and other activities. Membership fees are crucial to supporting the club’s work.

Six-month membership: NOK 350
Annual membership: NOK 600
«Gold Card»: NOK 1,250 per half-year or NOK 2,300 for a full calendar year. This includes membership and free entry to all regular milongas at Bergen Body Work. Membership or Gold Card payments can be made via credit card on letsreg.com.

About Tango Abrazo

Tango Abrazo was founded in 1998 and is a voluntary non-profit organisation. Our aim is to promote and develop Argentinian tango in Bergen. We are an active organisation and can offer:

Classes at all levels
Short introductory courses
Milongas twice a week
Participation in Bergen´s cultural life
Performances upon request for various occasions (team building, parties, promotions, etc.)

For team building we can offer introduction courses and performance.

What kind of social environment do we strive for?

Tango Abrazo strives to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and where all members and visitors treat each other with respect. Please speak to a board member if you experience anything that does not align with this ethos.

Some people are sensitive to or even made ill by perfume or aftershave. We therefore ask that you refrain from wearing these during milongas or other events organized by Tango Abrazo. Some of our members may need to leave the room if they detect a strong scent. Please be considerate of your dance partners and friends!
